PREVENTATIVE TREE CARE SERVICES
Spring and summer are great seasons for tree maintenance. It is also a good time to evaluate your trees for possible damage that could occur during the fall and winter season. We can assess the health of all your trees as part of our tree health service. Early assessment of trees can diminish the effect of snow and wind during the dormant season. Our strategy in preventive tree care service includes the following steps:
- Be proactive
- Inspection and assessment
- Multi-solution technique
Be Proactive
We urge our clients and prospective customers who come to us for a complimentary service estimate to be hands-on with the inspection and assessment of their trees. Trees should be inspected for the present damage and the potential damage a storm can bring. Trees battle ice storms in the South which can be difficult for them to survive, most especially if they are not well-maintained. We encourage you to have your trees evaluated and inspected regularly, not beyond late summer of the year.
Complete Inspection and Evaluation
Our main goal when inspecting your tree is to find out what limbs and trees are at risk of damage during snow storms. We may not be 100% accurate with our evaluations but our certified arborists can identify symptoms that can result in tree damage. We assess the following areas during our inspection:
Once the assessment is done, we will come up with a plan to eliminate the risk of tree-storm damage. We will advise you if your tree needs to be removed or it can still be saved. We will not remove trees unless they are beyond restoration because they are good protection against wind and storms.
- Tree Structure - ideally, mature species have branches that are 2/3 of the diameter of the trunk. We would also check the canopy of the tree. Although tilting trees can be normal because they follow the ray of the sun, it can also be a symptom of a weak root system suggesting that the tree may be affected by a storm.
- Weak Limbs - absent bark or leaves can indicate dead wood. They should be removed before the dormant season because these types of branches can break or fall even with moderate storms. In addition, limbs with wounds or holes can be a sign that disease is impacting the tree.
- Roots - roots that are observable from the ground and is not covered with soil can be indicative of a weak root system. Moreover, cut or damaged roots can result in property damage if not attended to.
Once the assessment is done, we will come up with a plan to eliminate the risk of tree-storm damage. We will advise you if your tree needs to be removed or it can still be saved. We will not remove trees unless they are beyond restoration because they are good protection against wind and storms.
